Healthcare can often be a matrix of different resources, and our Care Coordinators hope to streamline and simplify that for you!
Our board-certified SASC team of Healthcare Providers will coordinate your curative treatments by partnering with your existing primary doctor(s) and specialist(s) to better manage your physical pain and symptoms. Your team will discuss your individual symptoms, provide disease education, treatment options, and answer all of your questions to guide you every step of the way.
Our Social Workers can provide extensive knowledge to help navigate your individual insurance benefits and financial responsibilities that come with an illness or disease. They may connect you to community resources that can be beneficial to you based on your individual needs.
Illnesses can also take an emotional or mental toll on both your happiness and your body. We believe that your emotional and mental health is just as important as traditional medical treatments. SASC can provide a non-denominational Chaplain who is available to you and your family as a supportive resource as needed.

08. Is Palliative Care the same as Hospice?
Palliative Care is for patients that are experiencing stress and symptoms from a serious illness or disease. This can be started at any time and any stage of an illness or disease. The goal is to pair it with existing curative treatments to improve the quality of a patient’s life. Some medical and supportive resources that SASC provides for Palliative Care may overlap with Hospice and are utilized based on individual patient needs as assessed by our Care Team. However other needs, such as medical equipment, are not necessarily included in the provided resources and may not be covered by insurance.
In contrast, Hospice is focused on short-term comfort care during the terminal, or last, phase of life. Terminal is defined as 6-months or less if an illness takes its natural course and curative treatments are no longer beneficial. As days of life become limited, the comfort care is increased to control physical pain and emotional stress of the patient and family.
Please speak with your doctor or contact us today to speak to a SASC Care Coordinator to discuss your specific needs, insurance benefits, and if Palliative Care is right for you.

You should feel confident and comfort in your emotional support- we are happy to coordinate resources to align with your specific religious affiliations or requested Pastor, Priest, Pandit, Imam, etc.
